Commandline-Tool DirCreator.exe

Running the commandline-tool {DirCreator.exe what} lists all supported modes. If you don't supply any mode, create is assumed.

Modes overview

Mode Description
create processes a template, optionally with a CSV file as input
job processes a job-file, which includes all switches, parameters, and variables in one compact XML file
readacls Prints out the ACLs of a given directory

CREATE mode

This is the default mode.

Usage:
        -d, --data [optional] ... The CSV file with the parameters (1st line containing the fieldnames)
Example: -d input.csv

        -e, --encoding [optional] ... The encoding of the CSV file (default = Windows-1252)
Example: -e utf-8

        -p, --separator [optional] ... The separator within the CSV file (;)
Example: -p ,

        -t, --template... The configuration XML (will be validated against the supported XSD)
Example: -t configuration.xml

        -m, --mergeoutput [optional] ... 'Wether to save the merged configuration. A sequence and the .xml extension is added automatically

        -n, --env [optional] ... A list of comma-separated key/value pairs to add to the NVelocity-context
Example: -n "server=srv01,domain=%USERDOMAIN%,fullName=Doe\, John"

Use a backslash \ to escape the separatation signs = and , in the value part

        -s, --simulate [optional] ... Wether to not really do anything, just log what would be done

        -v, --verbosity [optional] ... Default: Information. Possible: All, Verbose, Information, Warning, Error, Critical
Example: -v All


The only required parameter is the -t, --template. It is an XML file conforming to the DirCreator schema and any applicable extension schemas. The schemas are compiled into the assemblies and the template is automatically validated against these.

JOB mode

Enter {dircreator.exe job} to see all options

        -j, --job... The XML-job file
Example: -j job_0728167331.xml

        -v, --verbosity [optional] ... Default: Information. Possible: All, Verbose, Information, Warning, Error, Critical
Example: -v All

READACLS mode

Enter {dircreator.exe readalcs} to see all options

Usage:
        -d, --dir... The directory/path to extract ACL information from
Example: -d c:\

        -t, --target [optional] ... Optional. The target-system (see public API
an well-known StorageAdapters). Default=NtfsFileSystem
Example: -t NtfsFileSystem

        -v, --verbosity [optional] ... Default: Information. Possible: All, Verbose, Information, Warning, Error, Critical
Example: -v All
